Dental Checkups & Teeth Cleanings

Child receiving dental checkup and teeth cleaning

For younger patients, we’ll conduct thorough and complete dental checkups and cleanings every six months to help optimize their oral health. First, one of our dental hygienists will examine their mouth for any signs of cavities. Then, we’ll use special dental instruments to remove all plaque and tartar accumulation from above and below their gum line to prevent any problems from developing down the road.

Dental Sealants

Sealants are designed to fill the deep pits and grooves of the molars, which can be particularly susceptible to cavities because they trap food debris and bacteria. These grooves can be difficult to clean, and in some cases, can even be narrower than the bristle of a toothbrush. Children have a particularly difficult time keeping their molars clean, but we can give them the extra protection they need by applying sealants at their next checkup.

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

A mouthguard is an oral device that is worn over your top teeth. It is designed to absorb impacts in the event of an accident, such as a hit to the face or a fall on the field, protecting the teeth, jawbone, and the soft tissues in the mouth. Every child should always wear a mouthguard while participating in sports, and we can provide your little athlete with a custom-made one. It will offer much more protection and be more comfortable than any generic guard you can buy at the store.
